TRAINS

I’m fascinated by international passenger trains in Europe and the way they have changed in the last one hundred years or so. I have built a site dedicated to this subject http://www.eurailtracks.co.uk/. Not only have routes changed but so have services upon them. The website shows how the international network has developed and adapted to changing needs. In doing so it has tried to give a good look at the service patterns between major cities in Europe in the 20th Century. It shows various snapshots of services at varying points in time.

This story has not been told hitherto in any pan-European form. The literature abounds with publications describing national networks but little has been done to paint the international scene. This site aims to fill that void.
